Welcome to the KSMA web site.  The web site will be undergoing several revisions in the next few months, so check back often to see the new and improved KSMA web site.

 

It is my pleasure to represent you as president of this great organization.  KSMA exists to promote the role of librarians in the school environment.  Librarians provide sound leadership in the school community.   We must lead the way by providing the sound resources that classroom teachers and other school personnel must have to provide a quality education for all students.  We play a vital role in providing the children the lifelong learning skills they will need to succeed in this every changing world.

 

KSMA will be providing several opportunities in the coming months for high quality professional development geared toward you and your role as Library Media Specialist.  The first will be on July 21 at our annual Summer Refresher.  This year’s summer refresher will be in Georgetown at Royal Spring Middle School.  Plans are well under way for a wealth of knowledge and sharing.  The second will be the annual KLA/KSMA fall conference in Louisville September 30 – October 3 at the Galt House.  Check out the KLA web site (http://www.kylibasn.org/) for registration and other details.  Another excellent resource is the Librarian’s List serve.   This is a list for librarians helping librarians.
